Neemrana Sightseeing Destinations
An ideal honeymoon heaven,
Neemrana Fort-Palace is among India's oldest heritage resorts.
Neemrana became the third capital of the descendants of
Prithviraj Chauhan III, who was killed in the Second Battle of
Tarain by Mohammad Ghori in 1192 AD. Neemrana derives its name
from a brave local chieftain Nimola Meo, who when defeated by
the Chauhans, pleaded that his name be given to his lost
kingdom. Neemrana, Rajasthan's closest palace from Delhi, is
122 kms from Delhi on the Delhi Jaipur Highway. This
picturesque site is located on a majestic plateau on the
sylvan hills of Aravalli Ranges.

Vaishno Devi

Every Hindu cherishes the desire to travel to the sacred cave shrine of Vaishno Devi which is situated on the top of the Trikuta Hills at a height of 1,700 mt. At a distance of 61 kms from Jammu, the
cave is 30 metres long and just one-and-a half mt high. At the end
of the cave are shrines dedicated to the three forms of the mother
goddess - Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasarasvati. Pilgrims have to
enter in small groups through a narrow opening and walk through
ice-cold waters to reach the shrines. The legend has it that the
mother goddess Vaishno Devi hid in the cave while escaping a demon
who was ultimately killed.
This cave shrine of Vaishno Devi is
approached through Katra, 13 km from the shrine and is the starting
point for the pilgrimage. From Katra, pilgrims climb one km to
Banganga, where it is believed that the goddess had stopped to drink
water.

The next stop is the cave shrine of Ardhkunwari, where the
mother goddess is believed to have meditated for nine months. The
Bhawan is the last halt before the actual shrine. Here you can stop
for wash- and- change, accommodation and for depositing luggage and
valuables

Corbett
National Park
Travel to this ideal weekend break - away from the
city, on the banks of Ramganga River. The Corbett National
Park is located in the undulating Shivalik foothills of the
Himalayas and spread over 520 sq. kms along the banks of the
Ramganga River. This first ever park of India is 300
kilometres away from Delhi. Formerly called Ramganga National
Park, it was named as Corbett National Park in honor the late
Jim Corbett, the legendary hunter, author and photographer who
had helped in setting up the park and demarcating its
boundaries.

Regarded as one of
the true bird parks of the world, the reserve is home to over 600
species of birds. 49 out of the 69 species of raptors, found in
India, can be seen in Corbett making it a striking element of the
local avifauna. The Park is nothing short of a paradise for
bird-watchers. Bird-watchers from different parts of the world
throng to the Corbett during winters when the bird persity is at its
peak.
One can see birds at the banks of River Ramganga on the outskirts of Corbett Park. They include Brown Fish Owl, Himalayan Kingfisher, Brown Dipper and Plumbeous/White-Capped Redstarts. Little/Staty backed Forktails and Mountain/Rufousbellied Hawk-Eagles can also be spotted here. Inside Corbett Park, Blue Whistling Thrush and Red Jungle Fowl are immediate possibilities.
The Ramganga River is famous for its sporting fish, the mighty mahaseer and the mallee. The rare fish eating, long snorted gharial and the more robust mugger can be seen basking along the sand banks and pools of the Ramganga.

Dheradun-Mussoorie Tour
A small hill resort, Mussoorie offers a
wonderful view of the Himalayan snow ranges to the north-east
and the picturesque Doon Valley. An ideal summer retreat of

Apart from the fact that the Delhi-Mussourie road is quite good, the

sights is worth the effort. Dehra Dun, the nearest railhead, is
connected to major cities with super-fast trains such as the
Mussoorie Express, the Bombay Doon Express, Calcutta-Howrah-Doon
Express and Gorakhpur-Doon Express. The Shatabdi Express too plies
between New Delhi and Dehra Dun.
